Fort Collins Zen Center - Kwan Um School of Zen Buddhism Meditation Group

RB Stewart, Senior Dharma Teacher and Abbot of the Fort Collins Zen Center, grew up in New England, and as a teenager went to prep school there. He spent his undergraduate years on the West Coast studying fine art and physics at UC Berkeley. In 1986 he met Zen Master Seung Sahn and soon traveled to Asia for monastic practice in the Zen and Theravadan Buddhist traditions. He earned an MA in contemplative psychotherapy from the Naropa Institute in 1994, and was for years a principal therapist and admissions coordinator at Windhorse Associates, a non-profit residential therapeutic community in Northampton, Massachusetts. Since relocating to Fort Collins in 2005 he's worked in private practice, served on the Rivendell School Board of Directors, and been a stay-at-home dad.
